this is a continuation of footprints in the sand I dont know the author but I really like it. Butt Prints in the Sand One night I had a wondrous dream, One set of footprints there were seen, The footprints of my precious Lord, But mine were not along the shore. But then some stranger prints appeared, And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?" Those prints are large and round and neat, "But Lord, they are too big for feet." "My child," He said in somber tones, "For miles I carried you alone. I challenged you to walk in faith, But you refused and made me wait." "You disobeyed, you would not grow, The walk of faith, you would not know, So I got tired, I got fed up, And there I dropped you on your butt." "Because in life, there comes a time, When one must fight and one must climb, When one must rise and take a stand, Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

apprentice demon
The story is told of an apprentice demon that was soon to be sent on his first assignment. He decided to focus his efforts on neutralizing the effectiveness of Christians. In discussing his strategy with Satan, the apprentice said, "I'll try to convince Christians that there is no such thing as sin!" Satan replied, "That cannot be your main objective, because most of our enemies know the reality of sin. You will confuse some Christians but most will not fall for it." "Well then," the apprentice responded, "I'll convince the Christians that there is no hell." "Good thinking," said Satan. "But the idea of judgment is so ingrained in Christians that most will see through the deception. What we need is a strategy to effectively neutralize Christians from witnessing to friends, family and co-workers." The young apprentice thought for a moment; then a look of devilish glee slowly spread across his face. "I've got it!" he said, with a wicked smile. "I'll convince Christians young and old that there is no hurry! I'll whisper in their ears, 'You are awfully busy today. Of course you will witness for Christ but it will be fine to put it off until next week when things slow down.' For the vast majority of those good intentioned Christians --- next week will never come." "You have done well," said Satan. "You will see great success with that strategy. Many millions will be secured in my kingdom forever, simply because their Christian friends plan to share Christ tomorrow --- but for most tomorrow will never come." Prayer: Father help me to take time today to share Christ with those you have put on my heart. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

God forgives all sins, no matter how big A prayer for forgiveness and mercy "Nothing can ever separate us from His love… Romans 8:38 NLT For the honor of your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins… Turn to me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse. O, save me from them all! Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. Psalm 25:11, 16-18 NLT " Like dominoes… "Have you ever felt as though the problems in your life were like a series of dominoes? One domino falls down, and it sets off a chain reaction that knocks down the rest of the dominoes. David felt that his problems were going from bad to worse—his enemies had surrounded him, waiting for his ultimate demise. David could see no way out. But even in his despair, he knew there was one whom he could always trust to help him. He turned to God, confessed his sins, asked for forgiveness, and pleaded for mercy. When we are separated from God because of our sins, we need to repent and ask for forgiveness. Then, with a clean heart, we can come before him and ask for help. He will hear and answer us "for the honor of his name." A prayer for today: Dear God, for the honor of your name, please forgive my many, many sins and have mercy on me… from The One Year Book of Bible Prayers Bruce Barton, general editor (Tyndale) entry for October 10" Content is derived from the Holy Bible, New Living Translation and other publications of Tyndale Publishing House
